Cut Mat Face Down

Whatever mat and machine you are using put your adhesive vinyl paper backing side down onto your mat so the colored vinyl side is facing up see image below.

Cover design with butcher paper larger than cricut easypress heat plate. My frame was 24x30 so i started by cutting a piece of matboard that size. Also keep in mind that the more you cut in one area the more worn that part of the mat will be so don t be afraid to switch it up. The addition of a sleek well cut mat can greatly enhance the look of any framed picture but having a mat cut and frame made commercially can sometimes cost more than the picture itself.

Typically if you cut 2 3 of your own mats your tools will pay for themselves. Place the super shiny side of holographic face down on the cutting mat. That way your mirrored design gets cut into the vinyl itself allowing you to remove the vinyl that does not need to be transferred to your project. To complete this project using cricut easypress 2 press at 385 f 195 c for 40 seconds using light. Measure the reveal area you want around. Set your cricut dial to custome material setting. Load the mat in backwards put the htv towards the bottom left or wherever you haven t cut in a while.

Put your faux leather face down on the mat. A cutting mat or a large piece of cardboard a yardstick a metal one would be best but i did okay with a wooden one pencil.
